==Les comparaisons entre suites==

Le résultat d'une comparaison entre deux suites n'est pas forcement conservée lors du passage à la limite :

* Si <math>(a_n) = (b_n)</math>, alors <math>\lim_{n \to \infty} (a_n) = \lim_{n \to \infty} (b_n)</math>.
* Si <math>(a_n) > (b_n)</math>, alors <math>\lim_{n \to \infty} (a_n) > \lim_{n \to \infty} (b_n)</math>.
* Si <math>(a_n) < (b_n)</math>, alors <math>\lim_{n \to \infty} (a_n) < \lim_{n \to \infty} (b_n)</math>.
* Si <math>(a_n) \leq (b_n)</math>, alors <math>\lim_{n \to \infty} (a_n) \leq \lim_{n \to \infty} (b_n)</math>.
* Si <math>(a_n) \geq (b_n)</math>, alors <math>\lim_{n \to \infty} (a_n) \geq \lim_{n \to \infty} (b_n)</math>.

Il suffit de considérer les deux suites suivantes pour ce convaincre du faut que le passage à la limite ne conserve pas les inégalités strictes :

<math>\forall n \in \N^* , \quad U_n := 1 + \frac{1}{n} \qquad
V_n := 1 - \frac{1}{n},
</math>

leurs limites est 1 pourtant pour <math>n > 0, U_n > V_n
</math>.
