Usually known as the Hamaphot P56L, this camera was manufactured by Apparatebau und Kamerafabrik. Hamaphot was actually the primary distributor, not the maker. I love this camera for its colors -- the body is black; the shutter release, winding knob, and helical telescoping lens tube are forest green, and all the metal parts are gold-colored. It was manufactured in Monheim, Germany in 1956, and is a close cousin of the Pouva Start cameras. I was fortunate enough to acquire this camera as part of a package deal that included two Start cameras! |
